الْبُخْلُ بِإِخْرَاجِ مَا افْتَرَضَهُ اللَّهُ سُبْحَانَهُ مِنَ الْأَمْوَالِ أَقْبَحُ الْبُخْلِ
Stinginess in spending from one’s wealth that which Allah, the Glorified, has made obligatory, is the worst type of stinginess

أَقْبَحُ الْبُخْلِ مَنْعُ الْأَمْوَالِ مِنْ مُسْتَحَقِّهَا
The worst stinginess is withholding money from those who deserve it

أَبْخَلُ النَّاسِ بِعَرَضِهِ [بقرضه] أَسْخَاهُمْ بِعِرْضِهِ
The most miserly with his possessions is the most generous with his honour

أَبْخَلُ النَّاسِ مَنْ بَخِلَ بِالسَّلَامِ
The most miserly of people is the only who is stingy with his Salām.

أَبْخَلُ النَّاسِ مَنْ بَخِلَ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ بِمَالِهِ وَخَلَّفَهُ لِوُرَّاثِهِ
The most miserly of all people is the one who is stingy to himself with his wealth, and [eventually] leaves it behind for his heirs
