إن الورع والتقوى حصن
الْوَرَعُ جُنَّةٌ

التَّقْوَى أَوْفَقُ [أَوْثَقُ] حِصْنٍ وَأَوْقَى [أَوْفَى] حِرْزٍ
God-wariness is the strongest fortress and the most protective sanctuary

التَّقْوَى حِصْنٌ حَصِينٌ لِمَنْ لَجَأَ إِلَيْهِ
God-wariness is a fortified stronghold for the one who takes refuge in it

التَّقْوَى آكَدُ سَبَبٍ بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ اللَّهِ إِنْ أَخَذْتَ بِهِ وَجُنَّةٌ مِنْ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٍ
God-wariness is the strongest connection between yourself and Allah if you hold on to it, and it is a shield against the painful chastisement [of the Hereafter]

الْجَئُوا إِلَى التَّقْوَى فَإِنَّهُ [فَإِنَّهَا] جُنَّةٌ مَنِيعَةٌ مَنْ لَجَأَ إِلَيْهَا حَسَّنَتْهُ وَمَنِ اعْتَصَمَ بِهَا عَصَمَتْهُ
Turn to God-wariness, for indeed it is an impenetrable shieldWhoever turns to it, it protects him and whoever holds on to it, it preserves him

أَمْنَعُ حُصُونِ الدِّينِ التَّقْوَى
The most impenetrable fortress of religion is God-wariness

إِنَّ التَّقْوَى دَارُ حِصْنٍ عَزِيزٍ لِمَنْ لَجَأَ إِلَيْهِ [إِلَيْهَا] وَالْفُجُورَ دَارُ حِصْنٍ ذَلِيلٍ لَا يُحْرِزُ أَهْلَهُ وَلَا يَمْنَعُ مَنْ لَجَأَ إِلَيْهِ
Verily God-wariness is a strong fortress [of protection] for the one who takes refuge in it, and impiety is the dilapidated fortress [of humiliation] which does not protect its people and does not offer security to the one who takes refuge in it

عَلَيْكَ بِالْوَرَعِ فَإِنَّهُ خَيْرُ صِيَانَةٍ
Espouse piety, for it is indeed the best protection

مَنْ تَوَرَّعَ عَنِ الشَّهَوَاتِ صَانَ نَفْسَهُ
Whoever shuns lustful desires has safeguarded his soul

There is no stronghold more protective than piety

There is no fortress more impenetrable than God-wariness

لَا صِيَانَةَ لِمَنْ لَا وَرَعَ لَهُ
There is no safeguard for the one who has no piety
